“Come on Home Mama”

(An encouraging invitation from my son!)

May 11thIMG_4040.JPGI have so enjoyed my adventure!!! The weather has been amazing, I have challenged my endurance on several levels and I’ve created memories to last a lifetime!

IMG_6766Home is on my agenda today!!! Well, at least based on the calendar date where I end up, as when it’s all said and done I will have been up for 26 hours given the nine hour time difference between Washington and Spain.

IMG_5442.JPGI left my hotel at 7:30, walked a mile to the bus stop and a half hour later I was at the Barcelona airport for my 10:00, nine hour flight to Atlanta, Georgia. This stop was added by Delta – AFTER I purchased my tickets – and I was none too happy about it.

It took an hour to clear customs and go through security again. As to the latter, why?!?!! We cleared security in Spain before boarding and we have been “contained” ever since!!! Unbelievable!!

I had about twenty minutes to spare before catching my 3 1/2 hour flight to Salt Lake City, Utah. Then I had a nearly three hour lay over in wait for my Seattle bound flight due to land just after 11:00.

One great surprise – Darling Daughter Lindsey was with Bill to pick me up at the airport!! She had come into town for a photo shoot, bachelorette party plus visit and based on her original schedule, I was sad to concede that I would miss her. Honey Bill lovingly made some adjustments to her flights so that our paths would cross!!! IMG_8646So we chatted until nearly 1:00 a.m. And FINALLY, I was off to sleep in our nice (NEW king sized) bed (another surprise) on American soil!
